What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds. It had a 1/2" tear with tiny paper loss 3" to the right of the top crossfold. It had some tiny bits of paper loss in the top quarter of the vertical fold, and it had pinholes, small tears, and some smudges around the edges, more so in the blank corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. While I would think most collectors could display this poster as it is, it is also true that any talented restorer could perform additional restoration to the poster without re-backing it. But please bear in mind the poster's defects before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
