An Undated (probably 1948) Realart Re-release Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card #6 (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Ghost of Frankenstein, the 1942 Erle C. Kenton Universal monster horror thriller sequel ("New Thrills as the monster stalks again!"; "Original Story, Eric Taylor"; the fourth Universal Frankenstein movie after the three 1930s classics; in this entry, Bela Lugosi as Ygor resurrects the Frankenstein monster and takes him to the doctor's son and they must find a new brain!) starring Cedric Hardwicke (billed as "Sir Cedric Hardwicke"; as Dr. Ludwig Frankenstein), Ralph Bellamy, Lionel Atwill (as Doctor Bohmer), Bela Lugosi (as Ygor), Evelyn Ankers (as Elsa Frankenstein), Lon Chaney Jr. (as the Frankenstein monster), Holmes Herbert, and Janet Ann Gallow NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. there were many pairs of staple holes across the top 2" of the image; none were in the figures in the central image, but there was one in the top left inset image in the dark part at the top of Frankenstein's head and another in his chin; there were also pinholes in the bottom left corner; some restorer-type person put a total of 11 small pieces of white tape on the back of the card, and then did touch up to cover the pinholes; they did a very effective job on the pinholes in the monster's head at left and those in the image background, but they did less to disguise the pinholes and smudges across the top blank border, and they did nothing about the lesser number of pinholes and smudges in the other borders; the card has a long faint horizontal scuff line that goes through Frankenstein's eyes at center. From the front, the scuff line appears to start at the edge of the yellow oval and runs across Frankenstein's eyes and continues unevenly through 4" of the background. Turning over the card, it looks like there is a very straight scuff line across the exact same area, but running the length of the card. I can't explain why the two scuff lines don't "match up". But I can say that the scuff line is truly faint, and truly not very distracting! You can see that it is there, even from a foot away, but it is sort of transparent, so you can clearly see what you're supposed to see, and to me, it is only a minor distraction. Personally, I don't see this great card as having major defects, but please do not bid on it unless you can accept the defects it has or are willing to pay to have them restored.
