An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) The Beast of the City, the 1932 Charles Brabin pre-Code romantic crime melodrama (about a very dedicated policeman in an unnamed big city, who knows that a notorious gangster runs all the crime in the city, and he wants to bring that man down, but his job gets complicated when his younger brother falls for a beautiful blonde who has ties to the Mob, played by a very young Jean Harlow) starring Walter Huston, Jean Harlow, Wallace Ford, Jean Hersholt, Dorothy Peterson, Tully Marshall, and Mickey Rooney NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned a one-sheet (which sold for $4,827 18 years ago), a few lobby cards, and a few stills from this movie until we received this insert, which we have never auctioned before! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Finally, note that because this insert was printed on a slightly heavier paper, it makes far more sense for it to be sent in a large flat package than rolled in a tube, because we are afraid that rolling it could cause damage to it, and we would hate for that to happen! We will only send it rolled in a tube if the buyer insists, and accepts full responsibility in case there is any damage to it. Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded across the center. It has a slightly diagonal crease 4" from the bottom. It had small tears and tiny paper loss around the edges, with creases, smudges, and scuffs around the edges of the image in some areas. Someone put tape on the back middle fold and on the back of part of the diagonal crease, and tape on the back of a few border tears They performed slight amateur restoration to the above areas (see our image). It can certainly be displayed and enjoyed as it is, in spite of the above defects, or one could choose to have additional restoration performed. Learn More about condition grades
