An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Deliverance, the classic 1972 John Boorman (nominated for the Best Director Academy Award for this film) river-men-on-weekend-canoe-trip-meet-beastial-mountain-men-who-do-unspeakable-things thriller ("This is the weekend they didn't play golf"; "What did happen on the Cahulawassee River?"; "Where does the camping trip end... and the nightmare begin...?"; "Screenplay by James Dickey Based on his Novel"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, Ronny Cox, Herbert 'Cowboy' Coward (as the "Toothless Man"), Hoyt Pollard (as the boy at the gas station who plays the banjo), and James Dickey (in a memorable cameo as the sheriff at the end of the movie) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1972, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
