An Original Vintage Folded Austrian World War I Poster (measures 18" x 23 1/4" [46 x 59 cm]) (Learn More) Svolavaci Vyhlaska (literally translates to "Summoning Decree"), the 1914 Austro-Hungarian World War I (WWI) poster announcing that men of certain ages must join the military. Note that this poster was created shortly after the start of World War I and it was printed in the Czech language as many Czech-speaking people were part of the Austro-Hungarian empire at the time. After the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in June of 1914 by members of a Serbian revolutionary movement, Austria-Hungary declared war Serbia on July 28th, which lead to the start of World War I If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was created in Austria-Hungary which no longer exists as a single entity. For the sake of simplicity, we have listed the nationality of this poster as Austrian.
