Date Sold 3/31/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Autographed Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Publicity Still (Learn More) Strom Thurmond was a politician from the 1940s to 2003. He was the Governor and Senator (the longest serving Senator in U.S. history) for South Carolina. He was a well known opponent of integration for many years, which made the revelation late in his life that he had fathered a child with a black African American woman all the more surprising! He passed away in 2003 at the age of 100 from heart failure/ Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Strom Thurmond! Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" (or smaller) copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original theater-used stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. Condition: very good to fine. Learn More about condition grades
