Rome - 1911 International Exhibition, the 1911 Italian poster ("Contemporary and Retrospective Art - Music and Dramatic Art - Archaeology - Italian Ethnography - Congresses - Sport") promoting a World's Fair (to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the unification of Italy) to take place in Rome, Italy, and featuring art of four eagles on a column by Duilio Cambellotti. This fair marked the beginnings of the National Roman Museum but, unfortunately, the turnout was disappointing due to poor weather and a cholera epidemic. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Artist: Duilio Cambellotti

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had a 1 1/2" tear near the center of the bottom border, with a 1 1/2" horizontal tear to the left of it, with a 1/2" tear below, all in the blank border. There were some tears and tiny paper loss in the rest of the borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
