Fantomas - A l'ombre de la Guillotine, the 1913 Louis Feuillade French silent master criminal crime adventure thriller starring Rene Navarre (in the title role as Fantomas), Edmund Breon, Georges Melchior, Renee Carl, and Jane Faber. Note that the Fantomas character was in French stories, and was in this French movie, and it spawned four sequels, and is generally considered to have been the forerunner of the American serials of the middle 1910s. Also note that Louis Feuillade was one of the most important early French directors! He directed Fantomas in 1913 and Les Vampires in 1915, and it is estimated that he directed over 800 movies! More important, he is credited with being the first to direct "thrillers", and it is clear that Alfred Hitchcock, Fritz Lang, and many other directors were students of Feuillade.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie! Also note that for this 1990s re-release poster, the knife that was originally in Fantomas' right hand has been removed in an apparent bout of political correctness.

Condition: very good to fine.
