Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Sons of the Desert, the classic 1933 Lloyd French & William A. Seiter Hawaii screwball husbands-and-wives comedy (produced by Hal Roach; likely the very best Laurel & Hardy movie, this is the one where they sneak off to a Sons of the Desert convention and play ukuleles and sing "Honolulu Baby", but they lie to their wives and are reported dead in a ship sinking, and much more!) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Charley Chase (primarily remembered as a great silent comedian who appeared in 276 movies, most of them comedy shorts, Chase also directed 140 comedy shorts), Mae Busch, and Dorothy Christy NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster has been paperbacked (which means it has been mounted onto a cardboard backing by Studio C, the leading restoration studio). Prior to restoration, the poster had small portions of all four blank borders (ranging from 1/8" to 1/2") trimmed off (nothing that was trimmed affected any writing or image; it was entirely blank paper that was trimmed). There were also water stains within the image area. I instructed the people at Studio C to do minimal restoration, which meant chemically removing as much of the water stains as possible, and then only touching up the remaining slight stains, but not doing wholesale re-painting! The result is a poster that looks wonderful, and has not had much restoration. If you look very closely, you can see areas that had touch-up, but from any distance away, the restoration is invisible. There is actually only a small percentage of the poster that has been restored (which is the way I always prefer posters to be restored). Learn More about condition grades
