An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Seymour Nebenzal's Siren of Atlantis (also released simply as "Atlantis", and also as "Seymour Nebenzal's Atlantis, The Lost Continent"), the 1947 Arthur Ripley, Gregg C. Tallas & John Brahm romantic triangle fantasy adventure thriller ("Such Exciting Adventures... Such Exotic Women... -could only happen in fabulous Atlantis - the Lost Continent!"; "Strange! Stirring! Spectacular!"; "...Friends for life... Now enemies to the death!"; "...Chamber of horrors... Where 54 men met their fate!"; "...100 dancing houris [sic] to satisfy a queen's desire!"; "...frenzied men give their lives for her love!"; "'Come with me... to Atlantis where each man finds his Paradise on earth... land of love... land of terror!'"; "Come with me... and find your Paradise on earth!"; "Based on the novel 'Atlantida' by Pierre Benoit") starring Maria Montez, Jean-Pierre Aumont (Montez and Aumont were married at the time), Dennis O'Keefe, Henry Daniell, Morris Carnovsky, and Alex Minotis. Note that this movie is NOT based on the classic myth of a lost underwater city, but instead concerns a lost city in the Sahara Desert, but apparently there were budgetary issues with this movie, because the "lost continent" only consisted of a few buildings! Also note that the IMDb notes this movie as being from 1949, when it was actually made in 1947 (it had three different directors, and apparently had many problems during production, which apparently caused it to be released two years after it was made, even though the posters are clearly dated 1947, indicating it was ready to be released during that year). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fair to good. The poster is in lesser condition. There are several defects scattered along the borders and foldlines/crossfolds, and there are one or more areas of significant foldline and/or crossfold separation. The poster is in urgent need of restoration, and certainly a competent restorer could repair the defects described above, but please bear in mind the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
