An Original Vintage Linenbacked Canadian Circus Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 42 3/4" [70 x 109 cm]) (Learn More)

Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus, the 1969 Richard Barstow (produced by Irvin Feld) circus poster ("The Greatest Show on Earth"; "100th Anniversary") advertising the appearance of the combined circus acts. Note that this poster features great artwork of a tiger lunging out of a wheeled cage. The modern version of the circus started in 1919 when the Barnum & Bailey's Greatest Show on Earth, a circus created by P. T. Barnum and James Anthony Bailey, was merged with the Ringling Bros. World's Greatest Shows. With weakening attendance and high operating costs, the circus closed on May 21st, 2017 after 146 years.

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It had a circular stain in the left of the top border, extending into the top of the orange border. Otherwise, the poster was in pretty nice condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well!
