Important Added Info: Note that this was the first issue of "The Newspaper of Science-Fiction and Fantasy". The publisher (Star Fleet Productions) was working on it in 1977, when Star Wars was about to be released, and they rightly recognized that Star Wars would be a huge hit, and so they made their entire first issue a special "Star Wars" issue, and made it look like it was an authorized publication, and even made it look like the magazine was called "Star Wars" rather than the actual name. The newspaper contained lots of heavily illustrated articles by Doug Murray (later creator of the "Nam" comic book series), Allan Asherman, and others. It had two pages of illustrations of the denizens of the Mos Eisley Cantina by Anthony Fredrickson. Best of all, it had a "giant full color poster", which was actually just the centerfold of the newspaper (see our image). We would not imagine that many examples of this newspaper survive. Also note that we have provided a picture of the front and back covers of the newspaper, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the full-color poster image)! Condition: very good. The newspaper has minor wear around the edges and slight darkening. Learn More about condition grades
