A 1956 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) White Heat, the classic 1949 Raoul Walsh romantic love triangle crime film noir ("James Cagney in His New Hit from Warner Bros."; "James Cagney is red hot in 'White Heat'"; "His New Hit from Warner Bros."; "Screen Play by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts"; "Suggested by a Story by Virginia Kellogg"; about a psychotic killer who has frequent crippling headaches and although married, has an unnatural closeness to his aged mother) starring James Cagney (in one of his most memorable roles as Cody Jarrett; "in his new Warner hit"), Virginia Mayo (as Verna), Edmond O'Brien, Steve Cochran (as Big Ed), Fred Clark, Margaret Wycherly (unforgettable as the mother, Ma Jarrett, who really really loved her son, in her most memorable role!), John Archer, and Jim Thorpe (the legendary athlete in a cameo role!) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the foldlines. It had some pinholes around the edges and paper loss in the bottom right corner (almost all blank paper, except for affecting two letters). Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster). Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
