An Original 1981 Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Superman II, the 1980 (released in the U.S. in 1981) Richard Lester English/U.S. comic book superhero science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy sequel ("The Adventure Continues"; "The three outlaws from Krypton descend to Earth to confront the Man of Steel, in a cosmic battle for world supremacy"; "The adventure continues... Miraculously freed from the eternal orbit, the three outlaws from Krypton descended to earth, for the ultimate confrontation"; "If you've only seen the first part, you haven't seen the best part."; "Story by Mario Puzo") starring Gene Hackman (as Lex Luthor), Christopher Reeve (in the title role as Superman/Clark Kent), Ned Beatty, Jackie Cooper (as Perry White), Sarah Douglas, Margot Kidder (as Lois Lane), Jack O'Halloran, Valerie Perrine, Susannah York, Clifton James, E.G. Marshall ("as The President"), Marc McClure (as Jimmy Olsen), and Terence Stamp (as General Zod) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1980, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
