Artist: Richardson Studio

Condition: good to very good. The poster had creases, stains, smudges, and scuffs across the bottom of the horse's legs and in the top of the title area, and some minor wear in the rest of the poster. It appears that a restorer began to do the restoration on this poster, but then stopped in midstream, and cut out the poster from their linen mounting, leaving excess linen around the excess paper around the edges of the poster (normally, the excess paper and the excess paper would be trimmed to around 1" on each side of the poster). Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. I would think that a restorer could perform additional restoration to this poster without re-backing it, or the new owner could accept its partial restoration and trim the excess borders and frame it as it is. At some point after the poster was backed, it was roughly handled, and there are now creases around the edges of the excess linen, but also horizontal creases across the top 1" of the top blank border (both the poster and the linen).
