A 1934 Re-Release Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Men Without Law, the 1930 Louis King south-of-the-border cowboy western ("Buck Jones in a Whirlwind All Talking Western"; "Thrilling all-talking western"; about a cowboy who discovers his brother has joined an outlaw gang, and when they go to Mexico and kidnap the beautiful daughter of a rancher, he rescues the daughter and breaks up the gang, and wins the girl) starring Buck Jones, Thomas Carr, Carmelita Geraghty, Lydia Knott, and Harry Woods. Note that Buck Jones' white horse was named Silver (just like The Lone Ranger's later on!), and Silver made 73 movies with Buck Jones from 1922 until Jones' death in 1942 in the tragic Cocoanut Grove fire. But oddly, Silver was almost never billed on the posters for Buck Jones' movies as so many other famous horses (most especially Tom Mix's Tony) were!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that Columbia Pictures in the 1930s and 1940s would often give their major successes a full-scale second re-release a few years after the first release (in the case of this movie, four years later). They would either print the exact same posters from the original plates in full color, solely altering the copyright date, or, they would create brand new art different from that of the first release (which is true in this case), and they would put the re-release date in the bottom left copyright area, but without indicating that the poster was a re-release, which would cause the poster to years later be sold as first release, by people who did not check the original release date of the movie. This IS the 1934 re-release one-sheet for this movie, with completely different art from that of the 1930 first release one-sheet.

Condition: good to very good. There is small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds and there is a 3" uneven tear just above the bottom crossfold. There are many creases scattered through the poster and there are pinholes, creases, and some tears around the edges of the poster. While the poster has clear defects, it is also true that it will respond well to linenbacking, and after proper restoration, it will look great!
