An Original 1969 (see below) Vintage Theatrical Folded Military One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Night of the Living Dead, the classic 1968 George A. Romero & John A. Russo end-of-the-world science fiction (sci-fi) walking-dead undead zombie horror thriller ("They won't stay dead!"; "They keep coming back in a bloodthirsty lust for human flesh!... Pits the dead against the living in a struggle for survival!") starring Judith O'Dea, Duane Jones, Marilyn Eastman, Karl Hardman, Judith Ridley, Kyra Schon, Charles Craig, Keith Wayne, Randy Burr, S. William Hinzman (billed as "Bill Heinzman"; as the graveyard zombie), George A. Romero (the director, as one of the Washington reporters!), Russell Streiner, Ella Mae Smith, Dick Heckard, John Kirch, Paula Richards, George Kosana, John Russo, Richard Ricci, and Terry Gindele NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a very unusual poster, and a really cool collectible for someone wanting everything on this classic horror movie, because we have never auctioned this poster before! We think it is almost certainly a military one-sheet from 1969 (it would make sense that it would not have been shown to the military right away, because they commonly got movies after the main first release). Military one-sheets were made to be used on U.S. military installations. They are most commonly seen from the early 1950s (during the Korean War) and from the late 1960s (during the Vietnam War). This one does not have the usual markings of a military poster at the bottom, but it has "RETURN TO SFRO AFTER PLAY DATE" stamped on the back, which is stamped on the back of a good percentage of military one-sheets. It has a printed rating which says "RESTRICTED PERSONS UNDER 16 NOT ADMITTED", and that age was changed to 17 in 1969, so it surely dates from after the movie was released in 1968 to the point in 1969 right before they changed the age. It also has a stamp on the back that reads "9 10 2", and the "9" at the beginning could certainly refer to 1969 (perhaps October 2?). If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Condition: very good. The poster has faint "ghosting" in the white background areas, caused by the printing on the other half of the poster (because the poster was folded too soon). Otherwise, it has pretty minor fold and border wear. Learn More about condition grades
