Less than 10,000 returned. This is the story of 42 raw recruits caught up in a war they didn't understand, and the Captain who must lead them in their struggle to survive."; "On land they dreamed of being heroes. Beneath the sea they prayed to be survivors.";"The other side of World War II"; "Based on the Novel by Lothar-Gunther Buchheim"; "Written and Directed by Wolfgang Peterson"; set almost entirely in a claustrophobic submarine) starring Jurgen Prochnow, Herbert Gronemeyer, Klaus Wennemann, Hubertus Bengsch, Martin Semmelrogge, Bernd Tauber, Erwin Leder, Martin May, Heinz Hoenig (billed as "Heinz Honig"), Uwe Ochsenknecht, Claude-Oliver Rudolph, Jan Fedder, Ralf Richter (billed as "Ralph Richter"), Joachim Bernhard, Oliver Stritzel, Konrad Becker, Lutz Schnell, Martin Hemme, Gunter Lamprecht, and Otto Sander. Note that several years after the movie was released, the original footage was re-edited into three 100-minute sections and shown as a 3-part mini-series, and it was later shown as six 50-minute parts, and there was also a much longer director's cut released as well! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have taken a picture of the cover of the presskit and eight of the stills (less than eight if the presskit has less than eight stills, of course). We have noted if the presskit contains any supplements, but we do not picture them. All of the presskits are sealed and ready to be sent, and we cannot answer any questions about the contents, especially about what any stills we may have not pictured show. REMEMBER TO LOOK AT THE TOP OF THIS AUCTION TO SEE HOW MANY STILLS ARE INCLUDED WITH THIS PRESSKIT, BECAUSE WE NEVER PICTURE MORE THAN EIGHT OF THEM (and we pretty much picked eight stills at random). Condition: very good. Many of the presskits we are auctioning this week were carefully stored away for many years, and the stills are in really excellent condition. Sometimes the folder that contains the stills has some wear on it (as this one does), and you should be able to see that in our super-sized image. Learn More about condition grades
