An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) City Of Children, the 1949 John Nesbitt orphans in Mooseheart Illinois documentary short featuring John Nesbitt (as the narrator). You may have never heard of this "City of Children", or Mooseheart, Illinois, and that is because even though it came first, it became much less famous than Father Flanagan's Boys Town, which he founded in 1917, eight years after the City of Children was founded. Just like Boys Town, the City of Children was an entire city where only orphans lived, because at that time orphanages were institutions that could not provide loving homes for the children. The children in the City of Children learned trades and the value of hard work and discipline! You might be surprised to know that it still exists, as does Boys Town. This short is part of John Nesbitt's Passing Parade series, which started as a radio show in 1937 and continued to 1951 on the radio, but was also a series of 64 one-reel short subjects at MGM from 1938 to 1949, all of which were produced and narrated by John Nesbitt. This short was the final one in the series. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good. The poster was likely displayed and it has very slight rippling in several areas with some tiny patches of slight discoloration. It has pinholes around the edges and along the vertical foldline, but, as can be seen in our image the rare poster is otherwise "all there" and after a pretty simple linenbacking which would correct the light rippling the poster will look great!
