An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More)

Attack of the Fifty Foot Woman, the 1958 Nathan Juran (billed as "Nathan Hertz") science fiction (sci-fi) giant female monster horror thriller starring Allison Hayes (in the title role as the 50 foot woman), William Hudson, Yvette Vickers, Roy Gordon, George Douglas, and Otto Waldis. Note that the posters for this movie have wonderful Reynold Brown artwork of a giant scantily clad woman standing over a highway, and it is rightly regarded as one of the finest poster images of the 1950s. One wishes one could say the same about the movie itself, but alas, that is not true! But the poster for this movie is surely one of the most memorable ever created!

Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the poster was backed onto a paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original poster (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was professionally paperbacked . Prior to paperbacking, the poster had a diagonal crease that ran through the top right title area, running through the "C" of "ATTACK" and the "T" of "FT.". There was a semi-circular scuff line running from the woman's forehead around through her ear, down through her shoulder, and extending into the front of the car she is holding. There was a diagonal scuff line running from her hand holding the car, down into her thigh. There were two extra horizontal folds, one 4" below the regular top foldline (running just below the bottom of her chin), and the other 2" above the regular bottom foldline. There were some smudges and creases along the foldlines and some creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to paperbacking. A talented restorer paperbacked the insert, and the paperbacking minimized the creases along the foldlines. They then did touch up to the above noted defects, and they did a pretty nice job. From any reasonable viewing distance, the poster displays nicely, but from close up, one can see signs of the restoration. Note that the coloring the restorer used on the letters of the word "ATTACK" has darkened to a somewhat different orange color than that of the original color (it probably occurred over a long time), but any talented restorer could certainly touch up that area to make it match perfectly, if the new owner of this great poster desired.
