An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Still (Learn More)

Altered States, the classic 1980 Ken Russell bizarre science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy thriller ("In the basement of a university medical school Dr. Jessup floats naked in total darkness. The most terrifying experiment in the history of science is out of control... And the subject is himself."; "Written for the Screen by Sidney Aaron"; "From the novel 'Altered States' by Paddy Chayefsky"; about a guy who takes powerhouse drugs and mutates into early man) starring William Hurt (in his very first movie role!), Blair Brown, Bob Balaban, Charles Haid, Thaao Penghlis, and Drew Barrymore (in her very first movie role!)

Important Added Info: Note that this still appears in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the still was printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that it WAS printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So it is an original still from 1980, but it was printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
