An Original Vintage English Magazine Supplement (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm]; 2 pages) (Learn More) Oscar Wilde's Salome, the 1922 Charles Bryant silent Biblical historical romantic betrayal melodrama (based on the play by Oscar Wilde) starring Alla Nazimova (in the title role as Salome; born Mariam Edez Adelaida Leventon in Russia in 1879; she was a pupil of Stanislavsky [and his "method" style of acting]; she became a major stage star there, and came to the United States in the mid-1910s and made eleven movies for Metro in three years, including "Camille" opposite Rudolph Valentino; she produced movies that flopped badly, and she returned to the stage, returning to make a very few movies in the 1940s; she is as famous for her off screen behavior as for her on screen behavior!), Rose Dione, Mitchell Lewis, Earl Schenck, and Louis Dumar NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that in the late 1920s and early 1930s, the top English movie magazines started including "supplements" in the center of the magazine (sometimes they were bound in, and sometimes they were loose). These were like the Sunday newspaper "rotogravure" sections, and were all sepia and had great images from then-current movies. Note that this was removed from the June 2, 1923 issue of Picture Show magazine. There is printing on the reverse side of the page, but the primary interest is the cool 2-page ad for "Salome". Condition: good to very good. The pages were removed from a magazine (see above). Learn More about condition grades
