An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Ride Him, Cowboy, the 1932 Fred Allen wild horse cowboy western (about a cowboy who finds a horse that was accused of killing a man, and is called "The Devil Horse", and he is able to get the horse a pardon, and he trains it and later finds out that it was innocent of the murder, which had actually been done by one of the town's leading citizens and blamed on the horse) starring John Wayne, Duke ("His Devil Horse"), Ruth Hall, Henry B. Walthall, Harry Gribbon, Otis Harlan, Frank Hagney, and Glenn Strange. Note that this was the very first appearance of "Duke", the horse. Not only would he become John Wayne's horse in his six Vitagraph westerns, but over time, his name would become John Wayne's nickname, which stayed with him the rest of his life! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The lobby card had paper loss scattered down the left blank border and slightly affecting the top left corner of the image background. It had some tears in the top blank border and some tiny stains around the edges. Overall, the card was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The card was nicely backed, but the person who did it did not paperback it, as is commonly done, and they also left an excess border around the edges of the lobby card, which is not commonly done. But the card looks great, and would display really well framed! Learn More about condition grades
