NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Waldemar Swierzy Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this poster before. It has a completely different image of Buster Keaton over his train, which we have not seen on any poster from any country! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had many creases along the folds, with separation in the right half of the bottom fold, and in much of the middle fold, with some surface paper loss in both those areas. It also had water staining scattered throughout. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. Someone mounted it onto a thin linen backing with no restoration, and they did not mount it well, because it is "lifting" from the linen. It is starting to completely separate from the linen, which is a good thing! That is because the new owner will surely want to have this poster properly restored, and it is good that it can be quickly removed from the old linen. It is likely that some or much of the water staining can be removed through chemical means, and after proper restoration, this rare and unusual poster will look great. But please bear in mind its much lesser condition and look at our super-sized image before bidding on it. Learn More about condition grades
