Prior to paperbacking, the entire card had darkened somewhat and it had pinholes, tears, and tiny paper loss around the edges, with some scuffs and tiny stains scattered throughout. Overall, the card was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking. The card was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
