A Folded German Newspaper Poster (measures 31 3/4" x 44 1/4" [81 x 112 cm]) (Learn More)

Munchener Post (literally translates to "Munich Post") was a socialist newspaper published in Munich, Germany from 1888 to 1933. The paper was notable for its decade-long campaign against Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party before their accession to power. It was shut down by Hitler in March 1933 immediately after he became the Reich Chancellor.
Artist: F. Wunsch
Important Added Info: Note that we previously auctioned a different 1926 poster for this newspaper that measured 30" x 48" and had an image of a man holding the newspaper, while this poster has a much superior image by F. Wunsch, and has a tagline at the top that translates to "The Iron Shield of the Republic, Which Protects Our Jobs Is The Social Democratic Press". The men represent different trade unions standing united behind a wall of shields with German flag. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had tape across the top blank border that is no longer there, but which stained that area, and a piece of tape in the center of the top border that also stained the area. There is a tape stain in the bottom right corner. Someone put a piece of conservation tape on the back of the top border, likely to attach it to a mat. Other than the above and some small tears and tiny paper loss in small parts of the borders, the poster is in really nice condition!
