She started in the late 1930s as a young teenager, and she had a big break in "Top of the Town" with George Murphy, when she was just 12 years old. In the early 1940s, MGM had massive success with their musicals starring Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland, and Universal launched a similar series of musicals starring Peggy Ryan and Donald O'Connor! She passed away in 2004 at the age of 80. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Peggy Ryan (she wrote and signed a reply on the letter she received from a high school asking for a signed photo to give as a prize in a contest). Our consignor is a longtime memorabilia dealer who has purchased autographs several times over the past 30 years, and he feels certain that this signature is authentic. Condition: good to very good.
