In a murder-mystery that packs as big a punch as the NEW Dick Powell!"; "Haunted by a lovely face... hunted for another's crime!"; "Two-Fisted, hardboiled terrific!"; adapted from the novel 'Farewell, My Lovely' by Raymond Chandler) starring Dick Powell (as Philip Marlowe), Claire Trevor (as Velma Valento), Anne Shirley (as Ann Grayle), Otto Kruger, Mike Mazurki (as Moose Malloy), Miles Mander, Douglas Walton, Don Douglas, Ernie Adams, and Dewey Robinson. The movie was intended to be released as "Farewell, My Lovely", the name of the source novel, but it was changed at the last minute. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some tears and tiny paper loss scattered in the vertical fold and in the bottom horizontal fold, with a lesser amount on the top two horizontal folds. There was some tape on the back of parts of the folds and on the back of part of the middle right of the image, and some of it slightly bled through to the front. There were pinholes around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. A really talented restorer did expert restoration to this poster and it now displays fantastically, even from close up. It will look wonderful on the new owner's wall!
