eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 4j0054 KRAFT wooden cheese box 1930s used to store glass slides by a movie theater Date Sold 6/6/2023Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Cheese Box (measures 4" x 4" x 12" [10 x 10 x 30 cm]) (Learn More) Kraft was founded by James L. Kraft and his four brothers in 1909 as J.L. Kraft and Bros. Company. By 1914, thirty-one varieties of cheeses were being sold around the United States, and in 1915 the company invented pasteurized processed cheese that did not need refrigeration. In 1924, the company changed its name to Kraft Cheese Company, and then to Kraft-Phenix Cheese Company in 1928 after it acquired another business. National Dairy acquired Kraft in 1930 and they eventually became Kraft, Inc in 1976. Important Added Info: Note that we don't know if this wooden box was made this size by the Kraft company, or if a movie theater took a wooden Kraft box and resized it, but they then used it to store glass slides in, and they fit perfectly! This is the box that held the wonderful collection we auctioned earlier this year that contained wonderful glass slides from 1931 to 1933, including some horror classics. If anyone reading this has some glass slides and have been looking for an authentic way to store them, this cheese box is the answer! Condition: good. The box has stains inside and out, but is can still be used to store glass slides. The original printed advertising for the Kraft company can still be read on all four sides of the box, although there are stains over it. Learn More about condition grades
