Blackboard Jungle, the classic 1955 Richard Brooks teacher-vs-bad-teens high school melodrama ("The Blackboard Jungle is the most startling picture in years!"; "The sensational novel... now on the screen!"; "Based On the Novel by Evan Hunter"; "The most startling picture in years!"; "MGM's 'Blackboard Jungle' is the most startling picture of the year!"; "Drama of the teen-age terror!"; ) starring Glenn Ford, Anne Francis, Louis Calhern, Margaret Hayes, Sidney Poitier, Vic Morrow, Emile Meyer, Paul Mazursky, Jamie Farr, and Richard Kiley. Note that Sidney Poitier was 28 years old at the time of filming, but could reasonably pass as a high school student. Just 12 years later it would be Poitier who played the teacher dealing with troubled teens in another classic teaching movie, "To Sir, With Love"!

Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the folds. It had pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was backed with no excess linen, and unfortunately, after it was backed, it acquired water stains in the lower left blank border, in both the poster and the linen, but it is solely in the blank border (see our image).
