An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Laura Z. Hobson's Gentleman's Agreement, the 1947 Elia Kazan (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) investigation-of-anti-Semitism melodrama ("Produced by Darryl F. Zanuck"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award; about a reporter who pretends to be Jewish in order to cover a story on anti-Semitism and personally discovers the depth of bigotry and hatred, even in otherwise "decent" people) starring Gregory Peck (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Dorothy McGuire (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), John Garfield (he was a major star at the time, but he was Jewish, and he took a small role in this movie as a Jewish man who endures prejudice, because of how deeply he believed in what it was saying!), Celeste Holm (winner of the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), Anne Revere (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film), June Havoc, Albert Dekker, Jane Wyatt, and Dean Stockwell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. The poster had a dime-sized area of paper loss at the top crossfold and tiny paper loss in the other two crossfolds. There were four small areas of paper loss in the top quarter of the vertical foldline, and a tiny area of paper loss in the white background below the "M" of "McGUIRE" in the credits. There was only minor wear on the rest of the foldlines. There were some creases, tears, and tiny areas of paper loss in the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking (it is very fortunate that all of the areas of paper loss described above were solely in blank white areas). The poster was well backed, and looks great! Learn More about condition grades
