If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this one-sheet, and that was 26 years ago! There is something kind of humorous and bizarre about this poster! It shows Tom Tyler choking the bad guy, and apparently, this was just TOO much for the Danish censors, and they had someone overpaint that area so that his hand is resting on the man's shoulder, and he now has a scarf around his neck! Depending on how you look at it, this is either a major detraction or a fun sign of how censors saw evil in lots of things that now wouldn't cause anyone to bat an eye! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster was used in Denmark and had a Danish censor stamp at bottom left, and the censor paint at the center described above. It also had pinholes, tears, and areas of paper loss scattered down the right blank border, with a lesser amount of wear on the other borders and on the folds. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking (depending on how you view the censor paint at the center). The poster was nicely backed, but the restorer left alone the censor stamp and the censor paint, so bear that in mind before bidding on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
