An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Teaser One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Alien, the classic 1979 Ridley Scott English/U.S. science fiction (sci-fi) space monster horror action thriller ("In space no one can hear you scream."; "a word of warning..."; "Story by Dan O'Bannon & Ronald Shusett") starring Tom Skerritt (as Dallas), Sigourney Weaver (as Ripley), Veronica Cartwright (as Lambert), Harry Dean Stanton (as Brett), John Hurt (as Kane), Ian Holm (as Ash), Yaphet Kotto ("as Parker"), and Bolaji Badejo (in the title role as the Alien). Note that fantasy artist H.R. Giger did the wonderful art that was used to create the alien and the alien planet, but his art was not used on any of the regular posters, only on special prints created after the movie became a hit! Important Added Info: Note that this is a teaser one-sheet (note the "ONE SHEET 'ALIEN' TEASER" at bottom right and "COMING FROM TWENTIETH CENTURY-FOX" at bottom center). It is far more rare than the "regular" one-sheet (we have auctioned many times more regular one-sheets as teaser one-sheets), and it has a completely different image (and the image on the regular one-sheet was also used on almost all other U.S. posters, which makes this poster with a completely different image stand out all the more)! The last example we auctioned of this poster sold for $999! Condition: fair to good. The poster has water staining scattered down the right blank border and creases in the upper quarter of the left border. It has two 3" tears in the top of the poster that have been repaired with tape from the back. It also has fine surface paper loss on parts of the folds and some creases and scuffs scattered in the poster with pinholes around the edges. Someone once put some restoration paint on the pinholes, but otherwise did no restoration and the poster is not backed. Obviously it can be "rescued" by a talented restorer and will display really well afterwards, but bear the above in mind and look at our super-sized image before bidding.
