An Autographed Festival Brochure (measures 3 3/4" x 8 1/2") (Learn More) Lawrence Tierney was an actor from the 1940s to the 2000s. Some of his movies include: Born to Kill, Dillinger, The Devil Thumbs a Ride, and many other 1940s and 1950s film noir tough guy roles! He was a true "tough guy" in real life, and scared almost everyone he encountered! Legend has it that when he guest-starred on "Seinfeld" in "The Jacket" episode as Elaine's father, he scared the cast so badly that they never had him back on (apparently he stole a butcher knife from Jerry's TV kitchen and hid it under his jacket and when Seinfeld confronted him about it, Tierney pretended that he was going to use the knife as a gag in reference to the movie Psycho!). Somehow he made it to the age of 82, tough as ever, passing away in 2002. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Lawrence Tierney! He signed his name and wrote his phone number and address on this brochure (which oddly is for a children's festival of the arts, which seems unlikely to be something to interest Mr. Tierney! About the Collection this Item Comes From Note that this item (and 36 others we are auctioning this week, each in its own auction) was consigned to us by a man who purchased the collection of a dedicated collector, who was a major film buff from the 1950s through the 1990s. He would purchase stills on stars he liked, and then he would go to events or collectibles shows (he went to virtually every collectibles show where stars appeared!), and he would get the items autographed, and many of his photos were personalized to him with nice inscriptions, because over time many of the celebrities who regularly attended shows came to be friends with him! Over many years he was able to acquire a large number of signed stills, and his collection was purchased by our consignor. In this set of auctions we are auctioning 37 of his autographed items (and we will auction others in future "all signed" auctions). We feel certain that the autographs on these items are authentic! Note that each of the 37 items from this consignor all have this paragraph on them. Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
