An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

Ravaged Earth, the 1942 Mark L. Moody World War II (WWII) anti-Japanese propaganda thriller ("Meet the Japanese 'Sons of ___ Heaven' See the terrific feature picture"; "Mark L. Moody's Terrific Picture... Actually filmed at scenes of action!"; "The picture that all Hollywood could never make!"; "It will make you fighting mad!"; "Meet Hirohito's Japanese"; "See how the Japs fight!"). Note that the majority of this film was shot during the 1937 Japanese destruction of part of Shanghai. The rest was put together from stock shots and photographs taken in Nanjing, China during the "Nanking Massacre" by Seventh Day Adventist missionaries. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never auctioned this poster before! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube (although, because we don't feel it would hurt the poster to re-fold it, it could also be sent flat, if the buyer has flat purchases to combine it with and no rolled purchases).

Condition: good. Some theater that had this poster "jazzed up" the poster by adding a border of black paint around the edges, slightly touching the background area. It also has minor creases along both folds, with pinholes, creases, and some smudges around the edges, with tiny paper loss in the top left blank corner and a 1/2" tear in the right of the top border. Certainly, a restorer could remove the black paint from around the edges, or one could choose to leave it as it is.
