The band was formed by singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. The Who have sold about 100 million records and have charted 27 top forty singles in the United Kingdom and United States, as well as 17 top ten albums. The Who were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990! Artist: David Edward Byrd Important Added Info: Note that this poster advertises the performance of The Who's rock opera, Tommy, at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City in 1970. It has "Distributed by Triton Gallery" printed in the bottom right corner. It is printed with a silver metallic ink and is quite nice, and we feel sure it is from 1970 (and not any sort of later reproduction), but we know nothing more about how the poster was distributed (we imagine it was sold by Triton Gallery to the general public). If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster contains nudity, so we have placed a white bar over those areas, for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual poster does not have those white bars!
