An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Rainmaker, the 1926 Clarence G. Badger silent horse racing sports gambling romantic fantasy melodrama ("From the story 'Heavenbent' by Gerald Beaumont"; kind of like a Twilight Zone episode from decades later, where a jockey mysteriously receives the ability to create rain right before a race, so he is able to pick winners based on how the horses perform in the rain, and that makes him wealthy and lets him find love, but then he mysteriously loses his power at just the wrong time!) starring William Collier Jr., Georgia Hale, Ernest Torrence, Joseph J. Dowling, and Tom Wilson (a large white man who specialized in playing black roles in the early silent days when studios were reluctant to hire African Americans; he would put burnt cork on his face and skin!; he appeared in The Kid, but not in a black role). Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that ANY movie paper items from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only previously auctioned two lobby cards, one still, and a glass slide from this movie (and NO other movie paper of any kind) until we received this title card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Condition: very good. Note that this card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
