His first feature-length picture -- in WarnerColor"; "First time on the big, wide motion picture screen!"; "Surging across America's vast badland in the most challenging undercover mission of his career!"; adapted from the classic TV show that starred the same actors) starring Clayton Moore (in the title role as The Lone Ranger; "The Lone Ranger Himself"), Jay Silverheels (as the Native American Indian Tonto; "Tonto Himself"), Lyle Bettger, Bonita Granville, Perry Lopez, Beverly Washburn, and Silver (the horse) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we auctioned this exact set of two posters in our 2019 December Major Auction. The high bidder mistakenly thought they were linenbacked (even though we did not say that in any way), and canceled them when he learned they were not, so we are re-auctioning them now. Please do not bid on these posters thinking they are linenbacked, because they are not! Note that we have seen several references to these posters on the Internet, and they all say that they are from the 1950s and that you would purchase them by sending 35 cents and two Wheaties box tops to receive these by mail! The only writing on them is a tiny "A11640 c TLR Printed in U.S.A." on the Lone Ranger, and "A11641 c TLR Printed in U.S.A." on the Tonto. In this auction, we are offering both the Lone Ranger and Tonto posters. In the past, we have auctioned three examples of these sets of two, and they auctioned for $850, $913, and $2,700! Condition: very good. The posters were folded at one time, but have been stored rolled. The Lone Ranger poster has paper loss and a tear in the center of the top border, and there is some darkening in that area that slightly extends into the top of his hat. There is also a stain in the bottom center of the poster in the white background. Otherwise, they have some pretty minor fold and border wear.
