An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Oversized Movie Still (measures 15" x 20" [38 x 51 cm]) (Learn More) Bette Davis was a legendary actress from the 1930s to the 1980s. She was Warner Bros. leading female star throughout the late 1930s, and she continued as a major star throughout the 1940s, and she had one of her greatest triumphs, All About Eve (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), in 1950. She refused to retire, and took out a famous ad in Variety seeking work (citing her two Oscars!), and she starred in What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film) and Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte in the 1960s. Some of her other movies include: Dangerous (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Jezebel (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Now, Voyager (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Of Human Bondage, Star (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Mr. Skeffington (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Little Foxes (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Letter (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Dark Victory (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film) and too many others to list! She passed away in 1989 at the age of 81. Artist: Eugene Robert Richee Important Added Info: Note that this 15 1/4" x 20" [39 x 51 cm] still has been personally autographed (signed) by the photographer, Eugene Robert Richee! Our consignor knows that this oversized still (which is mounted on a heavy board) was displayed at the Warner Bros. studio in the 1940s (perhaps in the commissary). They were surely mounted to the heavy boards when they were created, so they could be better displayed. It was found together with other similar oversized stills of other Warner Bros. stars from the 1940s (we recently auctioned two of them, a Ronald Reagan and two different Bette Davis, and now we are auctioning this final Bette Davis, which is the last one of these Richee portraits from Warner Bros. we were consigned, so this is your last chance to get one!). Each was taken by famed photographer Eugene Robert Richee, and he hand signed a corner of each. Condition: very good. The still is mounted on a heavy board (see above). It must have been displayed in a frame, because there are indications of that around the edges of the back where it has darkened. There is also bits of the board missing on the back of the top and right, but that can't be seen from the front, and the oversized still displays well. Learn More about condition grades
