An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Annapolis Salute, the 1937 Christy Cabanne Maryland romantic love triangle military U.S. Naval Academy United States Navy melodrama (about best friends who are Naval cadets, and they are both rivals for the hand of the daughter of the commandant of the academy) starring James Ellison, Marsha Hunt, Harry Carey Sr., Van Heflin (in his fourth movie ever!), Arthur Lake, and Ann Hovey. Note that one of the two best friends is played by Van Heflin. Most people do not realize he had significant roles in the 1930s, because they think of him as a 1940s or 1950s actor! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tape stains, tears, and tiny paper loss in the bottom quarter of the vertical foldline, and a much lesser amount of wear on the other folds. It also had pinholes in the corners. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
