eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 6e130 MOVIE CLASSIC magazine October 1931, artwork of beautiful Loretta Young by Marland Stone! Date Sold 7/26/2009Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Magazine (measures approximately 8 1/2" x 10 1/2") (Learn More) Movie Classic ("The Tabloid Magazine of the Screen"; "Latest Hollywood Happenings"), one of the many movie magazines sold to the public. Each issue features a great full color cover of a leading star of the day, plus lots of interior publicity stories about current stars and movies with many sepia and black and white images throughout. Also, in every issue are many wonderful vintage ads, some in sepia and some in black and white, and sometimes the ads can be just as much fun as the original stories and pictures. Of course, some of the ads are from movies that were about to open, and in the early days of eBay, people would remove those full-page ads and auction them by themselves, and they would often sell for $10, $20, or more, just for a single movie ad removed from a magazine just like this! Important Added Info: Note that this is "Vol. 1 No. 2" of this magazine. We believe that there were only five issues of this magazine published, and we are auctioning all five of them this week (in five separate auctions). We are not sure why this magazine was not more successful, because it is filled with lots of excellent stories and illustrations. It seems possible that the magazine might have been sued for some of its "National Enquirer" kind of stories, and perhaps that is why it only lasted five issues! If anyone knows more about this magazine and exactly how many issues were published, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine in the top left of our image, a picture of the table of contents page in the top right of our image, and a picture of one interior two-page spread in the bottom of our image (chosen pretty much at random!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: fair to good. The magazine has water staining along the spine of the first 15 pages, getting progressively lighter, but the entire magazine is somewhat rippled due to exposure to moisture, and is somewhat fragile. Please note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
