Complete Set of 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Chapter #4 Movie Lobby Cards (measure 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Return of Chandu (The Magician), the 1934 Ray Taylor black magic fantasy horror serial sequel ("He's back! The Master of Magic and Thrills"; "with a Distinguished Cast") starring Bela Lugosi (in the title role as Chandu), Maria Alba, Murdock MacQuarrie, Phyllis Ludwig, and Clara Kimball Young. Note that Chandu the Magician was a radio show that started airing in Los Angeles in 1931, and went nationwide the following year. That was also when a movie adaptation, called Chandu the Magician, was made. Two years later, this sequel, The Return of Chandu, was made, and this time, Bela Lugosi played the lead role, after having a supporting role in the prequel. The show went off the air in 1936. It was revived in 1948 as a 15 minute show and ran for two years. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that an entire set of lobby cards from a early 1930s serial is rarely ever found intact. This set has great title card with Lugosi in his Chandu garb, and he also is in five of the scenes! Condition: very good to fine. Each card has darkened somewhat around the edges.
