An Undated (probably late 1940s) Re-release Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) The Lucky Texan, the 1934 Robert N. Bradbury (billed as "R.N. Bradbury") cowboy western ("Where life was raw and might was law!"; Wayne plays a blacksmith who discovers a gold mine, and almost has it stolen by crooks, but recovers it, and finds love with a pretty woman) starring John Wayne, Barbara Sheldon, Lloyd Whitlock, George 'Gabby' Hayes, and Yakima Canutt NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: fine. This poster was paperbacked and during the backing process, its extremely minor defects were repaired and it now looks really great! We only assigned this grade ("fine") to posters that were in really excellent condition prior to paperbacking, AND which were paperbacked by a top professional! The poster had some light creases, smudges, and scuffs throughout the image. The borders were somewhat tattered, but not extending into the edges of the image. The person who did the restoration put new blank white paper over all the borders to even out the appearance (but the small writing at the bottom of the poster was not covered over). This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only blank white area). Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to paperbacking. The poster was well backed, but you can see the slight scuffs and light smudges in the solid background areas when looking closely at the poster. Learn More about condition grades
