Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Fannie Hurst's Back Street, the 1932 John M. Stahl romantic family relationship mother sacrifice melodrama (based on the novel by Fannie Hurst; about a woman who intends to marry a man, but circumstances prevent that from happening, and they separate for many years, and reunite when the man is married, but the woman has a "back street" affair with him) starring Irene Dunne, John Boles, June Clyde, George Meeker, Jane Darwell, Zasu Pitts, and Robert McWade. Note that this movie was remade in 1941 starring Charles Boyer and Margaret Sullavan. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. Prior to linenbacking, the poster was in very good condition. The poster had slightly tattered borders and a really first-rate restorer very carefully placed new paper over some of them (it done so well that it is difficult to tell what is new and what is old!). The small writing at the bottom was unaffected. There was a small hole at each crossfold and some creases around the edges of the image. There were some vertical creases and tears in the top 4" and bottom 12" of the image area, but the part of the image that has the Dunne image had few defects. Whoever did the linenbacking did a very nice job as the defects are pretty invisible from any distance away. It should be noted that the linenbacker did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, as many linenbackers do. Learn More about condition grades
