Fanny by Gaslight (released in the U.S. in 1948 as "Man of Evil"), the 1944 Anthony Asquith English historical romantic love triangle family relationship melodrama ("What is there about Mason that makes all women forget how wicked he is!!!"; "you'll know why... when you see James Mason as 'Man of Evil'"; "Most daring love story ever..."; "From the novel by Michael Sadleir"; set in 1870s London, about a young woman who returns home from boarding school and witnesses her father killed, and then her mother dies too, and she discovers that her parents were running a bordello in the house next to their home, and then she discovers that the people she thought were her parents were not really her parents, and that her real father is a respected politician) starring James Mason, Phyllis Calvert (in the title role as "Fanny"), Stewart Granger (in his fifth credited movie role!), Wilfrid Lawson, Jean Kent, and Margaretta Scott

Condition: very good. 1" scratch extending through the man's cheek; 1" tear in the middle left edge of the card; pairs of staple holes, minor creases, smudges, and a few small stains around the edges of the card; small pieces of brown tape on the back of the card that have left slightly "raised" areas on the front;
