An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Hers to Hold, the 1943 Frank Ryan World War II (WWII) romantic melodrama sequel ("They met in a kiss and held it for love!"; "Based on a story by John D. Klorer") starring Deanna Durbin, Joseph Cotten, Charles Winninger, Evelyn Ankers, Gus Schilling, Nella Walker, and Ludwig Stossel. Note that this movie was a second sequel to 1936's "Three Smart Girls" and 1939's "Three Smart Girls Grow Up", with Durbin playing the same character as in the earlier movies, except now (because the U.S. was at war), she is in love with a pilot. Also note that the lovers of the movie (Cotten and Durbin) had a 16 year age difference (she was 22 and he was 38!). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a very light paper backing (acid-free), that keeps the "feel" of the lobby card similar to that of the original lobby card. Some restorers prefer to paperback lobby cards on to a heavy backing, while others prefer to use a very lightweight backing. The advantage of a lightweight backing is that the card still "feels" like a regular lobby card, but a heavier backing makes restoration easier to do and less noticeable. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had writing on the back of the right center of the card that slightly bled through to the front in the white and yellow areas. It had some creases and tears around the edges. Overall, the lobby card was in good to very good condition prior to paperbacking.
