An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Eyes of Texas, the 1948 William Witney singing cowboy western musical ("in TRUCOLOR") starring Roy Rogers ("King of the Cowboys"), Trigger ("The Smartest Horse in the Movies"), Lynne Roberts, Andy Devine, Bob Nolan, the Sons of the Pioneers, Nana Bryant, and Roy Barcroft NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were extremely well restored, OR it had some very minor defects that were not completely restored, and are slightly noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "Pre-Restoration Defects & Quality of Restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster had tiny paper loss near the top of the vertical foldline in the yellow background area and some creases and very tiny areas of paper loss in the horizontal foldline. There were creases, tears, and smudges around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but there are a couple of tiny dot areas in the yellow background and in the blank borders which the restorer did not touch, and the restorer did not touch the discoloration in the top of the top blank border (likely assuming it would not show when the poster is framed).
