Stevens, and Viola Roache NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Anselmo Ballester Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had several folds across the middle, with a fold near the top and bottom. There was paper loss at the left and right ends of the middle fold, extending into the background at middle left. There were some tears in the background to the left of Crawford's head and pinholes around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can clearly see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. In addition, after the poster was backed, it acquired a small area of surface paper loss in the railing at upper right (any restorer could touch up that area without re-backing the poster).
