The 53rd Annual Academy Awards (also known as the Oscars), the 1981 awards ceremony which was held on March 31st at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, California. The show was hosted by Johnny Carson, and had been delayed for 1 day due to the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan.
