An Original Vintage Unfolded World War II Poster (measures 14" x 20" [36 x 51 cm]) (Learn More)

Loose Talk Can Cause This, the 1942 U.S. World War II (WWII) Home Front poster encouraging people to safeguard sensitive information, and featuring Adolph Treidler art of an American soldier in a German prisoner of war camp and a Nazi soldier wearing a swastika armband. This poster might seem "heavy handed" to today's world, but America during World War II was very conscious of not accidentally giving information to the enemy.

Artist: Adolph Treidler
Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable group of around 100 guaranteed authentic mostly war posters (around 75 war posters, plus 25 others, including political ones) mostly dating from before 1900 through 1945, with 15 from after that date! These were originally acquired by an archive decades ago, and they have been in storage ever since, until they were recently consigned to us. Many of these are the sorts of posters that you can find reproductions of on the Internet, but finding guaranteed originals like these is incredibly difficult (years can go by before these are offered for sale or at auction). This is a very rare opportunity to purchase any of these more than 100 posters!

Condition: good to very good. The poster has pinholes in the corners and paper loss in the top left blank corner, with some pinholes, smudges, and small tears in the borders, and a 2" tear in the right of the bottom border. There is a long diagonal crease in the top of the poster, and a few faint creases and smudges scattered in the image (see our image).
